It's in such good shape that all it needed was a quick sand before priming and painting. After it was all painted, I wanted to add something to the front like I usually do. But I couldn't decide what to do. I knew this was a girls dresser so I thought of birds or butterflies or flowers but nothing seemed right. I don't think the front of the dresser is the right shape for a painting on the front.
So instead, for some uniqueness, I added a pretty pink damask paper to the insides of the drawers and painted little numbers on the back of the drawers.
This is my first project without my sprayer in a looooong time. To be honest, it was a bit of a struggle for me. The sprayer has spoiled me; it's so quick, it only needs one coat and it's dry in half an hour. I'll definitely have to get used to painting with a brush and a roller again.

i like it just as is. i like the fresh crisp white. one big giant stripe down the middle would also look cool
ReplyDeletehappy hand-painting! welcome to my world!
Fabulous transformation! I can never see past a piece at a thrift store...you have a great knack!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful makeover. I love the pink paper inside. i think it is just right!
ReplyDeleteHave I missed something ..... where's your sprayer? Regardless of having to 'brush and roll' it turned out lovely and the drawer detail is the perfect touch!
ReplyDeleteLove the white and the pretty pink paper! I've been tempted to try a sprayer, but for now I do all my painting with a brush and roller too.
ReplyDeleteWell it looks great Cathy! Sometimes simple is best. You will make it through this annoying Canadian winter (as will I) then back to your sprayer!

Very Cute Cathy :)
ReplyDeleteIt is so pretty and fresh looking now. I don't have a sprayer, and just use a brush and small roller. I would love to try a sprayer one day, but the cost is out of my reach right now.
ReplyDeleteHow fresh and pretty she sits, now! Like that you went the extra step and papered the drawers. Love it!
